Halon-Free Fire Extinguishers: What We Know So Far About the EASA Requirements
Halon, long used in aviation for its fire-fighting efficiency, is being phased out due to its ozone-depleting effects. Under EASA Regulation (EU) 2024/590, all halon-based extinguishers must be replaced with approved halon-free models, such as Amerex HALOTRON® BrX, by 31 December 2025. Adams Aviation, a leading supplier of Amerex extinguishers, is helping operators transition smoothly and stay compliant ahead of the deadline.
